Hi and welcome back to another episode of Perspective For Today. Last night I attended a meeting given by Heritage Action about Critical Race Theory. It was eye-opening to say the least. There was a panel of speakers sharing different perspectives on the subject.
There was one woman who was originally from China, Xi Van Fleet and the comparisons that she made to the Chinese cultural revolution and what’s going on in our country right now were startling.
I must be honest, I don’t normally attend meetings like this. But, I believe an informed Christian is a force to be reckoned with. We can no longer be silent and put our heads in the sand.
The future of the country that we leave to our children depends on us speaking out against divisive doctrines.
Doctrines that are being perpetuated in the school system, and in the military. CRT is even finding its way into the workplace. Soon, if we do nothing it will be a cancer that will destroy the fabric of this country.
I urge you to be more proactive in what is being taught in our schools. Attend PTA meetings, find out what’s being taught and let your voice be heard.
Let your local, state, and federal leaders know that CRT has no place in this country.
We can no longer sit idly by and watch this great nation become a communist state. If you don’t think it affects you as a Christian think again. CRT is starting to find its way into the church. CRT is nowhere in your Bible. Nowhere did Jesus teach division and hate.
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
That’s all I have to say on the subject. But if you’re interested I will have the video from Heritage Action posted on my website. perspectivefortoday.com
So let’s continue with our study of Romans. Right now we’re in chapter 5 verse 1. Which reads,
Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have a right standing with God through faith, and through the work of Christ all the enmity and strife has been removed.
We can have peace even in the midst of all that is going on around us. We as Christians can have peace even when our government has turned away from God’s will for our country.
Romans 5:2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
The same Grace that was afforded to Jesus is now available to us.
We are welcomed into the kingdom as sons and daughters, not as strangers. Not as those who have forsaken God. We rejoice in the hope of seeing almighty God in all his splendor. We ourselves will be manifested in that Glory.
John 17:22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,
Colossians 3:4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
It’s hard to wrap your head around that glorious future.
Here we are with all our human frailties looking forward to a day when we will have new bodies and we will be freed from the pain and suffering of this world.
Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.
But we’re not there yet.
So there will still be pain and suffering. But we look forward to an eternity that has been promised to us. So even in the midst of our suffering we can find joy.
Romans 5:3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
We are in this for the long run.
We not only rejoice in our eternal hope, we rejoice in our sufferings. So where do we find the strength to endure in our times of suffering? Through Jesus Christ of course.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Under our own strength the hardships that we suffer will leave us empty and wondering when it will all end.
If we are walking with Christ we will suffer as Christ suffered here on Earth. But if we continue to abide in Christ we can find consolation through Him.
2 Corinthians 1:5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
Romans 5:4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,
If we are faithful and continue to look to Him to work out His purposes despite our trials, we can sense His approval and be filled with hope.
Through all of this we know He is working in our lives and is molding our character.
Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.
How has God molded your life?
Have you been pliable and easy to mold or have you resisted the Potter’s hand at every turn? If we have been put through trials and tribulations and have remained steadfast in our faith then we are giving God a willing vessel that He can form into someone He can use for His glory.
Through The crucible God can remove our character defects.
He can take our imperfections and smooth them with the touch of His hand.
Romans 5:5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Our Hope is not misplaced, and we will never be disappointed or put to shame.
The hope of our salvation comes from the love of God that has been poured out into our hearts. That love manifests itself through the Holy Spirit, the moment we believe.
1 John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
